This new establishment has grown from the ashes of the previous Nepalese Restaurant. It is opposite Regent Street Car Park.
We arrived at 7.30 on a Thursday evening without a reservation and the restaurant was already quite busy. The dining room is bright and cheerful. There was a pleasent buzz about the place and the owners were having a relaxed drink at the bar. Our coats were taken and we were promptly seated.
We ordered a bottle of Pinot Grigio and a jug of iced water. To start with I had homemade sun dried tomato soup which had a terrific flavour, and my partner had chicken liver pate; also very good and there was plenty of it.
For the main course I had sea bass, which was juicy, pan fried and cooked slightly crisp; just as I like it. My friend had pollo principessa, which is chicken breast, asparagus and mozzarella cheese in a white wine sauce. We hadn’t tried this particular Italian chicken combination before and we liked the way the ingredients worked well together. A variety of hot, seasonal vegetables were served on the side.
For dessert we had a lovely cheesecake with fresh cream between us (we were pretty full after the main course) followed by two frothy cappuccinos.
The staff are all very pleasent and the service was efficient. At one stage during the evening the owner came over and asked if we needed anything. This was a nice touch. The bill came to a reasonable £50 for a very nice dinner.
Will we return?
Yes, this is a nice restaurant with a great atmosphere.
