This is a restaurant of which I have heard good reports but never got around to visiting. It is situated on the main Manchester road through Broadheath close to the Retail Park. There is plenty of free, local parking.

The menu is extensive, classically Italian, accompanied by a very good wine list. We ordered a bottle of house red, which turned out to be a very good Italian Merlot.

We chose garlic pizza bread and a bowl of minestrone soup to start, both came home-made, piping hot and very tasty.

For my main course I ordered lasagne, one of my all time Italian favourites. It was served with freshly grated fresh parmesan cheese. My dining partner ordered Pollo Dragoncello, which is chicken delightfully cooked with mushrooms and tarragon in a white cream sauce. A dish of nicely cooked vegetables accompanied the chicken.

There was no room left for pudding so we ordered two frothy cappuccinos, sat back and relaxed.

Whilst we were ordering a group of some twenty five ladies arrived for dinner, pretty much filling up the restaurant. They were all in very good humour and looking forward to their evening out. We got chatting to these ladies later in the evening and discovered they were all staff from Boots in Altrincham celebrating the birthday of one of their number.

Although the restaurant was now busy the staff remained attentive and cheerful, looking after their happy group of customers very well.

There is a family feel about this restaurant that is warm and relaxing; a little Italian oasis in the middle of Broadheath. It isn’t expensive either. I can’t remember exactly how much, but it was certainly very good value.

There is an early dining offer of 2 courses for 2 people with a bottle of house wine for £30. Great value!

Will we return?

Yes, good food and atmosphere.
