Australia (Part Two)
Australia is such a vast country that it is impossible to see in one visit. For a second time visitor it is worth exploring some of those lesser visited areas.
Western Australia is the largest Australian state. Perth is the capital city and it has a more relaxed feel than many of the other Australian cities, famous for its beaches, great parks and also for having more hours of sunshine than any state capital in Australia. For lovers of wine head further south to the Margaret River area which is also a region renowned for great surfing. Head north and discover the ancient landscapes and secret gorges of the Kimberley region.
Victoria boasts a wealth of natural wonders, it is known for its unusual landforms such as the Grampians and the Twelve Apostles, eroded limestone rock formations that can be seen from the Great Ocean Road. It has a cooler climate which makes it the perfect setting for the vineyards that produce world class wines. The state capital is Melbourne, a cultural city known for its love of arts and sports.
South Australia borders all other mainland states. It has a varied landscape ranging from a striking coastline to the desert like outback in the north. Adelaide is the state’s capital and is home to most of the state’s population. Kangaroo Island is located off the coast of Adelaide and is a haven for native wildlife.
Australia is a cosmopolitan destination that will appeal to everyone.
